Super-E Motors are designed to conserve energy over extended time periods. These premium efficiency designs are available in both Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled and Open Drip Proof construction. All three phase motors are Inverter Ready per NEMA Standard MG1, Part 31.4.4.2. This means the motors in 230 and 460 volts meet NEMA's corona inception voltage requirements, under this Standard, and can withstand peak voltages of up to 1600 volts. Motors having premium efficiency are also available in single phase designs.
Automotive approved motors are available in both Standard High Efficiency, our Standard-E, and Premium Efficiency, our Super-E, designs. The Standard High Efficiency motors meet efficiency times power factor requirements of GM7EQ. The Premium Efficiency motors meet the efficiency times power factor of GM7EHQ. Available from stock in ratings from 1 HP to 100 HP. These cast iron motors meet automotive requirements for sound power levels.
Baldor's line of brake motors are available in totally enclosed fan cooled, open drip proof, or explosion proof designs, in either single or three phase. Stock ratings are available from .25 horsepower through 30 horsepower. These motors use a mechanical spring set brake with a manual release. Brake motors may be used on machine tools, conveyors, door operators, speed reducers, hoists, or any application requiring quick stops and positive holds.
Baldor's new Definite Purpose Commercial Motor line offers many new ratings designed for applications with low to medium starting torque requirements. The Baldor Commercial Duty Motor line brings Baldor's reputation for high quality designs to commercial applications with a cost-effective offering. This definite purpose product line is designed for certain applications requiring NEMA 48 and 56 motors rated between 1/4 and 1 HP, in both single and three phase ratings. Typical applications include: Jet Pump, Heating and Cooling, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Blowers, Direct Drive Fans, Condenser Fans, and Pedestal Fans.
Baldor's Explosion-proof motors are ideal for a wide variety of applications where hazardous fumes or dust may be present. The motors are available in three phase and single phase with ratings, in stock, from 1/4 HP through 300 HP. Designs available include standard foot mounted, C face with base and C face less base, 60 Hz and 50 Hz, Jet Pump motors, and Inverter Drive motors.
Motors built for applications requiring F-2 mounting are available from stock in 1/2 HP through 60 HP. These motors are manufactured in both TEFC and Open Drip Proof construction in NEMA frames from 56 to and including 364T. Many of the ratings are Class "F" insulated with 1.15 Service Factor that operate within Class "B" temperature limits. The motors are stocked in both Standard High Efficiency and Premium Efficiency designs.
These motors are designed for many of the varied applications found on the farm. Designs include motors suitable for aeration fans, auger drives, grain stirring, metering pumps, instant reversing, irrigation tower drives, and crop driers. General purpose motors are also available in both single and three phase, TEFC and ODP construction. For those loads that are hard to start and require extra torque, Baldor is the only motor manufacturer that stocks Repulsion-Start Induction Run motors, in sizes from 2 HP to 10 HP.
Baldor's extensive line of General Purpose motors are available in Open Drip-proof and TEFC construction in both single and three phase. Horsepower sizes available from stock range from 1/12 HP through 1500 HP. Designed for "general purpose" use means that these motors can be used in applications which include compressors, pumps, fans, conveyors, material handling, machine tools and many others. Also available are stock motors that are direct replacements for the motors built in Pre-1952 NEMA frames.
Severe Duty motors are available from 1 HP to 500 HP. These products are especially designed for those applications requiring protection of the motors from severe environmental operating conditions. A few typical applications which might require these types of motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants.
Baldor's line of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Motors are designed with dynamically balanced rotors for reduced vibration and quiet operation. The motors range in size from 1/4 HP to 75 HP and include heavy duty industrial designs as well as designs for commercial applications. These applications include ventilators, direct drive and belted fans, exhaust fans, unit heaters, air conditioning units, and commercial refrigeration condensers. Also included are motors designed especially for use with variable torque electronic controls that are used to conserve electricity.
Inverter Drive Motors are wound with 200 degree C. moisture resistant ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire which dramatically extends the life of the motors compared to motors wound with non-ISR wire. The motors available from stock range in size from 1/3 HP to 500 HP. These motors are designed for applications where up to a 1000:1 constant torque speed range is required. Applications include conveyors, pumps, fans, metal processing, compressors, test stands, and material handling equipment.
Baldor's line of Metric Dimension Motors are designed in IEC Frames from D63 through D200L. The motors are available from stock in 50 Hz or 60 Hz. This means that replacement 60 Hz motors are readily available from Baldor to replace metric motors that have failed on imported machinery. Motor construction meets IP54 and includes motors with B3 base mounting, B5 Flange mounting, or B14 Face mounting. Stock motors range in size from .18 kW to 30 kW. Typical applications for this product include pumps, fans, conveyors, machine tools, gear reducers and any other jobs that requires IEC Frames.
These single phase motors are available in both totally enclosed fan cooled and open drip proof construction. Industrial quality with 200 degree C., moisture resistant wire, the motors have UL and CSA recognized component approvals. NEMA frame sizes include 56 through 184 in rigid base only or NEMA C face with base.

Two Speed Motors are available in both totally enclosed fan cooled and open drip proof designs. Constant torque or variable torque motors having one winding or two winding are stocked in NEMA frames 56 through 284T. Vector Drive Motors are stocked in either totally enclosed blower cooled with an attached constant velocity fan or totally enclosed non-ventilated construction. All motors are supplied with a 1024 line count encoder. Horse powers are available from 1 through 500 HP in NEMA frame sizes from 56C through 5009L. The motors are ideal in industrial applications where full torque is needed from base speed down to zero speed. Applications include test stands, material handling, packaging equipment, printing presses, and others requiring exact speeds and positioning.
Baldor's Washdown Duty Motors are available from stock in single and three phase AC and in DC designs. Horsepowers range from 1/2 to 20. Designs include motors having an electostatically applied epoxy finish, paint free with major components in 300 series stainless steel, and all stainless steel. Applications include food processing, packaging, pharmaceuticals, or applications where motors are regularly exposed to high pressure wash down.

Using a motor mounted encoder, or similar feedback sensor, the control is able to precisely control motor torque and speed. Full torque at zero speed, ability to directly command motor torque, tight speed regulation and high-speed motor operation are all available. Setup is easily accomplished using the one touch rotational or stationary autotune feature. Baldor's Series 5 inverter is a low cost and compact size inverter. However, don’t let the compact size fool you, the Series 5 mini-inverter is packed with the same protection features you would find in larger controls. Built-in current limit provides motor overload protection. High peak-current is available for up to 2 minutes and delivers up to 200% starting torque. The available peak currents will result in reduced nuisance tripping during overload conditions. Electronic inrush current limit and filtering is standard to reduce transient voltage spikes from dirty power sources.
Baldor's full line of Soft Start motor controls for AC induction motors include products from simple Torque Control designs to the easy to program Digital controls. Units are available to reduce mechanical stress, prolong motor life and lower motor inrush currents in both single and three phase designs. Combination, Non-Combination and control only configurations in panel or NEMA 1, 3R, 12, or NEMA 4 enclosures are available from 1 through 800 HP. Many are available from stock or can be quick shipped in 72 hours or less. UL and CUL Listing along with CE Certification are standard on most designs.
Baldor's Digital Soft-Start control combines the simplicity of a 6 SCR three phase voltage regulator with the most adaptable soft staring techniques available. Soft Starting reduces the wear on mechanical gears, chains, sprockets, belts and gearboxes. It also reduces water hammer in pumping applications. The reduced inrush current can prevent peak overload of the overall plant, thus preventing peak demand penalties charged by the local utility company.
This breakthrough drive product combines adjustable speed control electronics with a Premium Efficiency industrial motor in one easy to install, easy to use package. The Baldor SmartMotor is available in 1 through 10 HP covering NEMA frames from 56C to 215TC for standard and Washdown Duty designs. Close Coupled Pump units in NEMA 143JM to 215JM frames are also available. UL / CUL Listing and C-Face with rigid mounting base is standard and all models are available from stock.
These NEMA frame DC motors include permanent magnet designs through 5 HP and wound field designs through 500 HP designed for adjustable speed operation from SCR controls. Applications include conveyors, extruders, winders, printing presses and metering pumps. Most designs are constructed so a tachometer may be added for closed loop applications. Permanent magnet and wound field designs for 90 or 180 VDC have a 20:1 constant torque speed range.
Permanent magnet DC motors are available with a choice for standard painted or paint-free finishes. PMDC motors may be used for adjustable speed applications such as conveyors or packing equipment. They may be paired with our BCWD140 Washdown DC SCR control.
Permanent Magnet DC Motors are available for 1/4 - 2 HP and wound field motors of 1/2 - 3 HP for Class I, Group D and Class II, Group F & G locations with listing by both UL and CSA. Applications include conveyors and mixers in hazardous locations.
Permanent Magnet DC Motors are available with a choice of IEC B5 flanges in .2 to 5 HP or B14 C-faces in .2 to 2 HP. All are designed for 180 volt input power with a 20:1 constant torque speed range. These metric frames are designed for replacement on equipment requiring an IEC interface with the gearbox.
Baldor Power Motors are designed for fixed-speed operation from a generator or battery power supply. These are 20% compound-wound motors. Applications include cranes, hoists, conveyors and augers where only DC power is available.
Baldor has designed a Permanent Magnet DC Motor with an integral 50 VDC per 1000 RPM precision tachometer. Its compact design fits into many locations where a conventional motor won’t fit. Plus it is less costly than buying the motor, tach kit and tachometer. Applications include precision metering pumps and tensioning.
Baldor Lifting Magnet Generators provide power for lifting electro-magnets used in scrap and bulk metal handling facilities. Horizontal motors may be belted from the diesel engine or the motors with C-faces may be coupled to the PTO drive of the crane.
One-way DC controls are designed to operate permanent magnet or wound field motors. If the motor's rotation needs to be changed, the armature leads need to be reversed. Some NEMA 1 and NEMA 4X controls offer optional switched for reversal. Stopping of a motor with a one-way control should be done by dynamic braking, some controls offer the Forward-Brake-Reverse switch for this purpose too.
Regen controls are designed to easily operate the motor in forward and reverse directions without motor lead reversal. A separate set of SCRs is used for each direction. With a regen control, stopping is controlled by using the motor's regenerated voltage

The standard GBSM gearheads are available in five different case sizes, which fit directly onto the five sizes of Baldor’s BSM servo motors. Mounting takes less than 2 minutes.

Available in ratios from 1.5:1 to 250:1 and are also pre-lubricated with Klubersynth UH1-6-460 oil. All Baldor Speed Reducers are available from stock at any one of our 35 North American warehouses.
Baldor provides a wide range of motion control solutions for the automation industry by offering a choice of easy to use programmable motion controllers (positioners) with multi-tasking capability and drives (amplifiers) to suit many applications - the NextMove family is available in PCI format or standalone; the FlexDrive family covers a wide power range; and Ethernet Powerlink (e100 series) provides designers with real-time solutions. Offering between 1 and 12 axes of control, Baldor motion controllers are available with digital and analog I/O for complete machine control. Motion control systems can be up and running quickly thanks to Baldor’s Mint programming language. Mint is a versatile, yet easy to use, Basic like programming language. A wide range of programmable moves are supported including trapezoidal, S-ramp, linear and circular interpolation, helical interpolation, electronic CAM, gearbox and flying shear. User defined profiles can be added using the supplied embedded ‘C’ libraries. Mint also supports full control of the I/O and communications back to a host controller. Machine level networking and optional operator panel control can all be controlled under a single Mint application program.
Our latest generation NextMove controllers and intelligent drive, MintDrive, all support multi-tasking Mint, with the ability to write complex programs easily. The number of tasks is limited only by available memory.
A complete set of ActiveX components are supplied with the controllers, allow full motion and I/O sequencing to be performed on a host PC. Application programs can be written in popular programming languages such as Visual Basic™, Delphi and LabView.

The NextMove e100 builds on the proven NextMove controller family of products and now integrates management of real-time Ethernet networks using the industry standard protocol ETHERNET Powerlink. Drives, I/O devices, sensors, absolute encoders can be added to the Powerlink network and controlled from the Mint programming language. This greatly simplifies system design and installation, and simultaneously expands the capabilities of the NextMove e100 as a machine control platform.
With it's high speed DSP (Digital Signal Processor) core, NextMove ESB provides a cost effect solution for up to 3 axes of servo and 4 axes of stepper control. The onboard I/O can be expanded through the CANbus port. NextMove ESB is programmable in multi-tasking MintMT, embedded ‘C’ or through the supplied ActiveX components. It’s USB port provides a fast connection back to the PC. The RS232 port or optional RS485 can be used to interface to other equipment.
NextMove PCI-2 is the latest generation PCI based motion controller from Baldor. Based around the popular NextMove PCI controller, NextMove PCI-2 offers a pin compatible motion controller with over twice the performance. NextMove PCI-2 is a compact (7") PCI based controller for the control of up to 12 axes of motion. A single card can control up to 4 axes of servo and 4 axes of stepper. Expansion cards are available to take this to 12 axes of servo and 12 axes of stepper.
NextMove ES is a cost effective rack mounted motion controller for the control of up to 6 axes (2 servo and 4 stepper). Available with a USB interface, this provides a high speed interface to the PC. The onboard CAN port can be used to interface to I/O and HMI devices, as well as peer-to-peer networking capabilities with other Mint controllers. NextMove ES is programmable in multi-tasking MintMT, embedded ‘C’ or through the supplied ActiveX components.

The BSM N-series provide applications with low inertia to attain the highest acceleration capability – to position faster – to obtain the highest machine throughput. Baldor's motors are hard at work, increasing productivity, improving part quality, providing precision and reducing cost in many applications. This series provides continuous stall torques ranging from 4 Lb-In (0.4 N-m) to 354 Lb-In (40 N-m). Peak torques are typically 4 times continuous. This series has the lowest inertia to provide the maximum torque per package size.
The BSM C-series has as standard, a "higher" inertia – thus providing an excellent match for equipment requiring "higher" inertial matching for the machine. This series provides continuous stall capability ranging from 10 Lb-In (1.2 N-m) to 256 Lb-In (30 N-m). Peak torques are typically three time continuous. Baldor's BSM C-series provides 50% more torque in a smaller size (2 inches/50 mm) shorter) compared to previous Baldor motors. The C-Series provides an economical package best used in applications with higher load inertias.

Baldor's DSM series is an integrated high torque stepper motor and microstepping driver. The DSM is available in three frame sizes NEMA 17, 23, and 34, providing open loop operation with torques up to 1061 oz-in (749N-cm). The 1.8° stepper motor is combined with a microstepping drive, with up to 14 resolution setting from 400 steps to 51,200 steps per revolution. A simple Windows™ front end is used to set up resolution and other parameters.
